A virtual library experience - GSK's move from
paper to e-only
Speaker: Roger Brown, Manager, Contracts and
Licensing, Information Management, GlaxoSmithKline.
Roger described the dramatic transformation of the
GSK libraries from physical to virtual, focusing on the
implications for their information vendors. Roger
also addressed the contractual requirements, logistical
considerations and the impact of the changes upon
information staff.

Intranet development case study
Speakers:

Our third seminar was a case study of how an intranet has
been built from scratch within a professional services
firm, outlining the pitfalls, successes and lessons
learnt. Our speakers talked about how the intranet has become a
vital communication tool in the organisation. The
session comprised a brief presentation tracing the
chronology of the project and an interview with the
project leader.
Round
table debate
The round table debate consisted of a panel of 4
senior information professionals, plus a Chair,
discussing topical information issues that affect us
all.
